Condolence card, from a patient

Most of my patient will have had no idea that the last few months have been tough. But I have a few that I follow closely, with high-risk pregnancies near term, who I wanted to make sure did not feel abandoned.  So I told them I was having an ongoing family emergency and an illness. One of them gave me this today:

 "As you remember your dad..."

My husband and I are truly saddened by your loss and wish you and your family all the best.

I told her that I would open it later because it makes me cry when people are nice to me. It was lovely even so, to be cared for by the people I try to care for.
