A sad day

Today is Tisha B'Av (the 9th of Av); it's a fast day for the Jewish people. It's a cultural and historical day of sadness, but the personal customs of mourning and shiva prevail. So for me, sitting on low chairs and feeling sad feels all too familiar, and too hard.

Then Manny and Anne's wedding photos arrived in my inbox. I took a few from the website to share here (I hope that's ok), because they made me less sad. But there are so, so many more that I hope they'll share when they're ready.

Here are two:

Insider tip: my dad loved babies. Here he is, dispensing that love. Look how happy he is! From the wedding photos, he seems to have spent most of the reception with Meirav in his arms.

And of course, he loved his own babies the best. Standing under Menachem and Anne's chuppah (Purim-themed circus wedding, hence the awesome bow ties and crazy top hat). It's hard to believe that was only a little bit more than a year ago.
